The Directorate is responsible for the management of bilateral relations of Mauritius with the countries of Asia, and the Middle East with the overall aim of generating mutual goodwill and building stronger relationships.
It pursues initiatives to step up bilateral engagements with countries of the two regions, especially in areas of trade, investment, tourism, financial services, education, science and technology. Efforts are geared at concluding bilaterally new instruments of cooperation and growth-inducing agreements and at fostering institutional linkages in all areas of interest as well as raising the profile and visibility of Mauritius in these countries.
