​ Mauritius participated in the 36ème session de la Conférence Mnisterielle de la Francophonie held in Monaco, from 30 to 31 October 2019.   The Mauritius delegation was led by H. E. Mr. V. Valaydon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary accredited to France.   The Conference was held under the theme of « Réconcilier l’humanité et la Planète ».  Four resolutions were, inter-alia, adopted by Member States of the OIF during the Conference, notably: ·        Résolution sur les Océans; ·        Résolution sur le 30ème anniversaire de la Convention des Nations Unies relative aux droits de l’enfant; ·        Résolution sur le rôle de l’innovation dans la promotion de la science, de l’éducation et de l’économie numérique; and ·     ...

Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African ...

​The seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7) Summit was held from 28-30 August 2019 in Yokohama, Japan.  The Hon. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister led the Mauritius delegation to the Summit. The main outcomes of the TICAD 7 Summit were the adoption of a Yokohama Declaration and a Yokohoma Plan of Action. In the margins of the Summit, the Hon. Prime Minister met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and discussed ways and means to enhance the bilateral relations between our two countries. Mauritius participation in the XVIII Summit of the ...

​Mauritius participated in the XVIII Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement which was held on 25-26 October 2019 in Baku, Azerbaijan.  The Summit was preceded by the Preparatory Senior Officials Meeting on 21 -22 October and the Preparatory Ministerial Meeting on 23-24 October. Ambassador J Koonjul, Permanent Representative of Mauritius to the UN led the Mauritius delegation and was the Rapporteur-General of the Summit. The theme of the Summit was “Upholding the Bandung Principles to ensure concerted and adequate response to the challenges of contemporary world”. ​           A support mission from the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Secretariat was in Mauritius from 3 to 4 October 2019.  The Mission was led by Ambassador Ombeni Sefue of the APR Panel of Eminent Persons, who is the Lead Panel Member for Mauritius.   2.        The purpose of the mission was to conduct a series of consultations with government as well as civil society and the private sector on how best to support Mauritius in consolidating its APRM structures and reporting procedures as well as the preparations for its APRM Second Generation review. Mauritius hosts the first African Economic Platform from 20 to 22 March 2017

​The inaugural session of the African Economic Platform (AEP) will be held in  Westin Turtle Bay Resort,  Balaclava, from 20 to 22 March 2017.
