The European Union (EU) and the five Eastern and Southern Africa
(ESA) countries, namely Mauritius, Comoros, Madagascar, Seychelles, and
Zimbabwe, implementing the interim Economic and Partnership Agreement, met
virtually from 06 to 08 July to hold the second technical round of negotiations
for the deepening of the agreement.
Negotiations focused on four topics, namely Rules of Origin (RoO),

Parties initiated negotiations on the basis of joint textual proposals.
The next round has tentatively been scheduled for the fourth week
of November 2020 virtually. The issues to be addressed in that round include
Agriculture, Services and Investment and, Trade and Sustainable Development.
